Missy Perkins

Melissa (Missy) Perkins has lived in the Independence area for 11 years. She has four children, a daughter in-law and one grandchild. Her sons’ names are Chad, Spencer, Travis, and Hunter. Her daughter in-law’s name is Jenny. Her grandson’s name is McKane and is nineteen months old.

Missy has worked in the Independence Public School System for nearly seven years. Her journey began as a cashier which led her to become a custodian at Mill Creek Elementary. In the summer of 2008, Missy began a new adventure. She accepted a position as the head custodian/building manager for Fairmount Elementary.

Missy has accomplished many things in this short time at Fairmount ranging from shoveling eight years of wax off the floor and being a mentor every day for three Fairmount students.

For Missy, the important things in life are her family, her friends and her Fairmount family. Every day she puts her kids, grandson and the students at Fairmount Elementary first.
